An instrument for making fragrance ideas, sensory observations and uncertainty visible. Eight chambers. One question: what does a smell actually teach us?
Conceptual educational instrument — not a fragrance safety calculator, odor simulator, or manufacturing recipe.
HOUSE OF VENUS / AN EXPLORATORY INSTRUMENT
Enter through a question.
A perfume is not merely a list of notes. It is an arrangement of volatile matter, perception, time and personal meaning. This Cathedral teaches you to separate what you designed, what you actually smelled, and what you inferred.
THE CATHEDRAL'S THREE LAWS
Design ≠ perception
The screen cannot smell. A conceptual note graph cannot predict what a formula will smell like.
Memory ≠ chemistry
An emotional association is real as an experience, but is not a universal property of a molecule.
A ratio ≠ a safe recipe
Only verified identities, concentrations and applicable safety documentation can inform physical use.
This project is independent artistic and educational work. House of Venus is a creative context, not a claim of scientific validation.
The material organ
Names are not certificates of chemical identity. Teaching sketches are intentionally separated from creator-mentioned ingredients.
Composition laboratory
All quantities here are conceptual parts. A ratio is not a weighed formula. No physical dilution or safety inference is made.
Concept compositions
Compare two decisions
Compare saved conceptual accords by normalized shares. This is a mathematical comparison, not a sensory prediction.
The school of smell
Twelve exercises for learning to reason about fragrance, without pretending the screen produces scent.

Sources and evidence boundaries
Creator-mentioned material names were drawn from creator context supplied to this commission. Identity, purity, supplier specifications and regulatory documentation have not been verified. Pedagogical sketches are clearly labelled. Descriptors are interpretive vocabulary, not measured properties.
Further reading: IFRA · ECHA · PubChem. These are research starting points, not ingredient-specific verified safety links.
Public creative home: sahiltayal.com. Live source pages were not verified in this build; no claim is made to have read them.
CHAMBER VI / PERCEPTION IN TIME
The sensory field journal
For an actual smelling session: record a material or accord, timing, context, observed character, interpretation, and uncertainty. Entries stay on this device until exported. Never present a imagined smell as observed.

CHAMBER VII / THE EXPERIMENTAL METHOD
The investigation rooms
Not quizzes with a right answer. Each room makes you state a prediction, control a variable and distinguish observation from explanation. Save your reasoning locally.
CHAMBER VIII / RESEARCH WITHOUT PRETENCE
Material dossiers
48 searchable teaching entries drawn from Claude's prototype. Individual identities, grades and regulatory statuses are not verified; these dossiers deliberately avoid invented thresholds, classifications or performance data.
Evidence desk
Material descriptions: interpretive educational sketches, not analytical measurements. Identity/safety: consult the exact supplier's SDS and IFRA information for the purchased product. Perception: controlled comparison is useful, but individuals, concentration and context change reports.
